How do ads work?
Ads are created from the flatplan or ads view. Use the “New ad” button, which will be ask you to specify:
- Size: You can use any text to describe the size of the ad. However, we suggest that you use a fraction like “1/1” or “1/4”, as this will ensure that the ad is included in the stats showing the total pages of ads.
- Advertiser: The name of the advertiser, if sold – if not, leave it blank for now.
- Comment: May be used for any kind of information.
- Sales person: The person responsible for selling the ad. It can be assigned to a specific sales person or left open, which means that any sales person can sell the ad.
- Deadline: Once the deadline is reached an advertiser must have been added and material delivered for an ad to be complete.
Click on an ad in the ad overview, to see it’s attached material in the box on the right.
Ad material can be uploaded to an ad by the sales person assigned to it. Alternatively, each ad has its own upload link that can be given to an external person. Using the link, an external person can upload ad material straight into Magma and if a sales person is assigned to the ad, they will be notified. Easy right?
Just like articles, ads can be placed on the flatplan.
Ads can have three states
- In progress: The ad is assigned to a sales person or is open for any sales person to sell.
- Complete (green): An advertiser has been added and material delivered.
- Overdue (red): The ad has gone past its deadline without being complete.
